Hi, I'm Kacper, a backend engineer from Warsaw. I lead the backend team at Telgani, the biggest car rental app in the Middle East. I design our services and make sure they work well in production.
I taught myself to code. It started in high school with simple websites on WordPress, and over the years it grew into designing backend systems. I like to set goals and work hard to reach them, both at work and outside of it.

| 2021 - now | Telgani, contracted through PROEXE. I started as a backend engineer and moved fully into backend work. I learned the cloud, built event-based communication between services and helped split a big monolith into modules. Since 2023 I have been the backend architect and team lead. I am responsible for the platform architecture, I review code and I lead a small team of backend engineers. |
|---|---|
| 2019 - 2020 | Compania and Move Closer. I stopped building WordPress sites and learned Laravel. I worked on my first real applications with engineers who had much more experience than me. |
| 2017 - 2019 | AdDesigner and Mindcloud. My first contract, my first clients and my first websites built from scratch. I also taught kids aged 5 to 13 to code in Minecraft, which taught me a lot of patience. |
| before | High school, PHP and many late evenings. |
| also | I wrote a Laravel course for StrefaKursów.pl and contributed to the Laravel framework. |
how I work
| design | I start with who owns the data, how services talk and what happens when one fails, and only then write code. |
|---|---|
| problems | Most of my time goes into understanding the problem. When I know what the real problem is, I look for the simplest solution that works. |
| scale | At scale, retries, slow dependencies and traffic spikes are normal, not edge cases. I plan for them early, and I measure before I optimise. |
| ownership | I own what I ship, from the first design to watching it in production and fixing it when it breaks. |
| reviews | I give clear, quick feedback and always explain why, so the team learns instead of just fixing the comment. |
| agents | I use AI coding agents every day. I choose the direction and review the result, and the agent does most of the typing. |

off the clock
Outside of work I watch a lot of football and ski jumping. Ski jumping is my favourite sport to watch, even though I would never try it myself. I mostly listen to house, electronic music and hip-hop, and one day I want to start composing that kind of music myself in FL Studio.
I live with three cats. I like to cook and I go swimming at the pool. I also run a small network at home, because I enjoy setting things up and fixing them. My coffee always comes from a moka pot, with a lot of milk.
